Expanded FIFA Club World Cup Set to Kick Off in the U.S. with Global Lineup and Star Performances

The FIFA Club World Cup (FCWC) is set to debut in a new, expanded format this summer, featuring 32 of the top club teams from across the globe. Hosted across 11 cities in the United States, including some matches in Miami. The tournament begins June 14 and will run through July 13, showcasing elite football talent in a structure designed to maximize global engagement and competition.

Clubs such as Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich, and Chelsea are among the confirmed participants. Representing all six FIFA confederations, the 32 teams will compete in a high-stakes group stage followed by single-elimination knockout rounds. The tournament will span 63 matches, promising an intense and fast-paced experience similar to the NCAA’s March Madness format.

Hard Rock Stadium in Miami is one of several key venues, with additional matches taking place nationwide. More than 80 nations will be represented through players on club rosters, underscoring the FCWC’s international scope. Unlike the FIFA World Cup—set for 2026 and limited to national teams—this tournament draws talent from clubs across every continent.

Entertainment will also be a central part of the fan experience. The opening ceremony on June 14 will feature performances by French Montana and Swae Lee, while the July 13 final will include a halftime show headlined by Doja Cat, Tems, and J Balvin. The final show is being produced by Global Citizens and curated by Coldplay’s Chris Martin.

This marks the first edition of the expanded FIFA Club World Cup, a milestone event that redefines international club competition.
