Rooted in the heritage that helped shape the Mandarin Oriental brand, these reinventions are designed to ensure the hotels remain among the most exceptional in their respective cities for decades to come.
Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong: A Reimagined Landmark for a New Generation

Key features of the renovation include:
A complete redesign of public areas by Hubert de Malherbe, including a grand new Lobby Lounge, a sophisticated Whisky Bar, and a stylish cigar divan.
A full refresh of guestrooms, suites, and the introduction of 11 new long-stay apartments designed by Jeffrey Wilkes, blending rich textures with a contemporary aesthetic.
Exclusive new signature suites by Thierry Lemaire, offering some of the most luxurious stays in the city.
An innovative Wellness Club inspired by local culture and traditional healing, creating a serene retreat in the center of Hong Kong.
A revitalized culinary program featuring Daniel Boulud and Daniele Cason. Boulud’s new rooftop restaurant at LANDMARK PRINCE’S will bring French fine dining with panoramic harbor views, while Cason will introduce an intimate pizza-and-wine bar concept on the hotel’s Mezzanine Floor.
The phased renovation will run through late 2026, with the hotel remaining open throughout.
Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok: Elevating a Legend Ahead of 150 Years
Across the Chao Phraya River, the Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok is embracing its legacy as Thailand’s most iconic hotel while preparing to celebrate 150 years in 2026 with a bold new look.

The enhancements build on the River Wing’s restoration and now extend to the Author’s and Garden Wings, with Jeffrey Wilkes once again leading the design. Interiors will draw from the surrounding tropical gardens, emphasizing Thai craftsmanship and residential comfort.
Culinary additions are just as ambitious:
Chef Anne-Sophie Pic, the most decorated female chef in the world, will debut at the redesigned Le Normandie, merging French finesse with Thai elegance in a new multi-sensory dining journey.
Lord Jim’s will relaunch with a casual-luxe fire-cooked concept by Alex Dilling, centered on seasonal ingredients and social dining.
Chef Fei, known for his Michelin-starred restaurants in China, will take over The China House, focusing on regional Chaosan flavors.
Baan Phraya, the hotel’s Thai fine dining venue, will see a redesign that honors traditional architecture while expanding its herb garden for hyperlocal, sustainable ingredients under Chef Pom.
The renovation also includes a comprehensive redesign of the hotel’s Fitness Centre, blending traditional Thai wellness with global vitality programs. Work is on track to wrap up by the end of 2025, just in time for the hotel’s 150th anniversary festivities.
