EVA Air Earns Three Top Honors at 2026 SKYTRAX World Airline Awards
EVA Air has strengthened its position among the world's leading international airlines, earning three first-place honors at the 2026 SKYTRAX World Airline Awards while maintaining its coveted 5-Star Airline certification for the 11th consecutive year.
The Taiwan-based airline was named World's Best Premium Economy Class, World's Best Premium Economy Class Airline Amenities, and World's Most Family Friendly Airline. In total, EVA Air received 18 top-ten rankings across categories recognizing cabin comfort, onboard dining, passenger service, and amenities.
The recognition is particularly significant for an airline that helped pioneer premium economy travel in 1992, introducing a cabin experience designed to bridge the gap between traditional economy and business class.
"We are grateful to travelers around the world and to SKYTRAX for this recognition," said Albert Liao, EVA Air Chief Executive Vice President. "These awards reflect the dedication and professionalism of every member of the EVA Air team and their unwavering commitment to our passengers."
Premium Economy and Family Travel Take Center Stage
Among EVA Air's most notable achievements was its continued leadership in premium economy, a cabin category that has become increasingly popular among international travelers seeking additional comfort without the higher cost of business class.
Beyond its three global first-place awards, EVA Air ranked No. 1 for Best Premium Economy Class Airline in Asia and Best Premium Economy Class Onboard Catering in Asia. The carrier also earned second place globally for premium economy catering and economy class catering, along with third place for business class comfort amenities and premium economy seats.
Edward Plaisted, CEO of SKYTRAX, praised the airline's continued investment in passenger experience, particularly its commitment to families traveling with children.
"EVA Air was the pioneer airline to introduce Premium Economy back in 1992," Plaisted noted, highlighting the carrier's ability to maintain its leadership as demand for the cabin category continues to grow.
Other notable rankings included fourth place among the World's Best Economy Class Airlines, sixth place for cabin cleanliness and cabin crew, and seventh place among the Best Airlines in Asia.
A Leading Choice for International Travelers
For travelers looking to explore Taiwan, Thailand, Japan, or other destinations throughout Asia, EVA Air is an attractive choice, particularly for those departing from the United States. Through its Taipei hub, the airline connects passengers to destinations across Asia, offering convenient onward travel options for both leisure and business travelers.
Its award-winning premium economy cabin is especially appealing for long-haul journeys, where additional comfort, attentive service, and quality onboard dining can make a meaningful difference.
EVA Air's recognition also extends beyond SKYTRAX. In 2026, Travel + Leisure named the carrier the No. 1 International Airline, while AirlineRatings.com placed it 11th among the World's Top 25 Airlines and eighth among the World's 25 Safest Airlines. The airline also received the organization's highest 7-Star PLUS safety rating.
Expanding Global Connections
As EVA Air continues to strengthen its international network, the airline is preparing to introduce nonstop service between Taipei and Delhi on December 1, 2026.
The new route will operate five times weekly aboard Airbus A330-300 aircraft, making EVA Air the only Taiwan-based carrier offering nonstop passenger flights to India.
The expansion reflects the airline's broader strategy of improving international connectivity while maintaining the service standards that have earned it recognition from travelers worldwide.
Established in 1999, the SKYTRAX World Airline Awards are based on global passenger satisfaction surveys evaluating airline products and services. The annual rankings have become an important reference for travelers comparing international carriers.
For EVA Air, its latest achievements reinforce a longstanding commitment to delivering a comfortable, reliable, and premium travel experience.
