Erica Herman, chief executive officer of Voices for Children of Broward County, has been recognized as a 2025 honoree in South Florida Business & Wealth’s Apogee Awards in the nonprofit C-suite category. Herman accepted the honor at the awards luncheon held Nov. 19 at The Venue in Fort Lauderdale.

The Apogee Awards celebrate distinguished C-suite leaders across Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties who demonstrate outstanding leadership, measurable impact and a deep commitment to their industries and communities.

As the inaugural CEO of Voices for Children of Broward County, Herman has transformed the organization and strengthened its role within the regional child welfare system. Under her leadership, Voices has expanded program capacity, increased revenue and broadened services to support more than 1,000 foster children annually. Her strategic vision has elevated the organization’s ability to meet the holistic needs of children in foster care by addressing academic, emotional and social well-being.

Herman has led the development of programs that provide immediate essentials such as food, clothing and school supplies, along with life-enriching opportunities through initiatives like Dream BIG Days and Fostering Hope. These programs promote stability, wellness and independence, creating a sense of normalcy and belonging for children who often face uncertainty.

A collaborative and forward-thinking leader, Herman has strengthened partnerships with community agencies, stakeholders and supporters throughout Broward County. Her ability to align resources, build trust and deliver meaningful results reflects a rare blend of operational excellence and deep compassion.

“Being recognized among such distinguished leaders is an honor,” Herman said. “This award reflects the strength of our team and our shared commitment to ensuring that every child in foster care has the support, stability and opportunities they deserve.”

Herman’s recognition at the Apogee Awards underscores her dedication to improving outcomes for children who have experienced abuse, neglect or abandonment and highlights the growing impact of Voices for Children of Broward County.
