Dual Luxury Living: A-Listers Who Call Both Miami and Jackson Hole Home

Miami and Jackson Hole may seem poles apart, but a growing number of A-list celebs and business titans call both places home. Why? Seemingly, there’s something in the combination of the city buzz and the slower pace of life in the mountains.

And according to Jason Ziernicki, the founder of Jackson Hole news outlet Antlers Arch, this intoxicating combination is a trend that’s only set to grow.

Here's an exclusive look at the A-listers who've mastered the art of bi-coastal (or rather, coast-to-mountain) living.

  1. Harrison Ford

Harrison Ford was among the first major celebrities to establish deep roots in Jackson Hole, purchasing his 800-acre ranch in the 1980s long before it became a trendy celebrity haven. His sprawling property along the Snake River offers complete privacy, a working ranch, and mountain views that inspired his environmental activism.

Ford is something of a Jackson Hole legend, says Ziernicki. "Although he maintains a Miami Beach property, locals in Jackson Hole respect his commitment to conservation efforts in the valley and how he keeps a deliberately low profile when in town."

His Miami waterfront home provides the perfect counterbalance. Sleek and modern, it has boat access and proximity to the city's vibrant cultural scene.

  1. Sandra Bullock

Sandra Bullock's property portfolio reflects her desire for both sophisticated urban living and privacy. Her multi-million dollar Miami residence features breathtaking ocean views, while her Jackson Hole property offers a secluded retreat tucked away on several acres.

Bullock is exactly the type who gets what makes Jackson special, says Ziernicki. "In Miami, she's occasionally spotted at restaurants and events, but in Jackson, she's practically invisible. She shops at our local markets and hikes the trails without the paparazzi intrusion she faces elsewhere."

  1. Tiger Woods

Golf legend Tiger Woods splits his time between his primary Jupiter, Florida residence and his Jackson Hole property. While his Florida home gives him access to his restaurant (The Woods Jupiter) and proximity to premium golf facilities, his Wyoming retreat is a completely different recreation experience altogether.

Woods appreciates the active lifestyle both locations offer. "In Miami, it's very much about golf and water sports, but in Jackson, that’s where he enjoys fly fishing and hiking."

  1. Uma Thurman

Uma Thurman's property choices reflect her bicoastal background and sophisticated tastes. Her Miami Art Deco penthouse boasts museum-quality interiors, while her Jackson Hole ranch-style home sits on several acres with Teton views.

Thurman is involved in the Jackson Hole film scene when she’s there and is very active in Miami's art world when on the coast. She embodies how these two seemingly different worlds can complement a creative life.

  1. Bill Gates

While Bill Gates is associated primarily with his Washington state compound, he's quietly assembled significant property holdings in both the Miami area and Wyoming.

Gates’ 18.6-acre Wyoming ranch sits adjacent to Yellowstone Club property, offering unparalleled ski access.

He represents a growing trend among tech billionaires who are drawn to Jackson Hole because of its combination of natural beauty and seclusion. Meanwhile, Miami provides the international connections and culture global figures like Gates require.

  1. Jeff Bezos

The Amazon founder's real estate portfolio has expanded dramatically in recent years in line with the value of his stock. Beyond his $500 million yacht and numerous properties worldwide, Bezos has established significant presences in both Miami's exclusive Indian Creek Island and Wyoming.

"Bezos is particularly interesting because he doesn't just buy property," says Ziernicki. "In both locations, he's acquired not just homes but surrounding properties to create compounds."

Inside the Miami/Jackson Lifestyle

For these dual-destination moguls, the lifestyle follows some common patterns:

  • Private Air Travel: Nearly all maintain access to private jets for the roughly four-hour flight between locations.

  • Staff Duplication: Most employ year-round staff at both residences.

  • Seasonal Wardrobes: Many keep complete separate wardrobes at each home, eliminating the need to pack beyond personal items.

  • Vehicle Collections: Different transportation needs mean maintaining vehicle collections in both locations, typically SUVs and trucks in Wyoming with sports cars in Miami.
