Dior RTW Fall 2023 - A Tribute to Indian Artisanship
Maria Grazia Chiuri collaborated with Chanakya for the Dior Fall 2023 show in Mumbai. They presented a monumental installation inspired by the traditional Indian toran, which was nearly eight meters high. The installation was created by artisans under the direction of Karishma Swali, the Artistic Director of Chanakya. It symbolized the power of community and showcased the excellence of Indian craftsmanship, which has been a shared passion for Maria Grazia Chiuri and Chanakya for the past 30 years.

The collection featured color palettes and materials that were influenced by Karishma Swali of Chanakya. A sequence of color blocks in shades of green, yellow, pink, and purple appeared in sophisticated evening coats, straight skirts inspired by saris, traditional Indian cuts, as well as pants, boleros, jackets, and tops.
The collection also included geometric shapes adorned with gold, silver sequins, and strass. Beautiful decorative motifs emerged on silk pajamas, blouses, and dresses, creating a kaleidoscope of colors. The collection, first showcased in Mumbai, celebrated the strong bond between France and India.
