Updated: Apr 26, 2023

The renowned Dillard High School for the Performing Arts presents Emancipation Blues, an American Blues journey through Black history. Presented as a riveting performing arts experience for the community to learn and celebrate the trials and triumphs of America's journey to freedom, this special Black History Month production will also feature the DCA Jazz Ensemble and is directed and choreographed by T.M. Pride.

Fri February 17 - 7PM / Sat February 18 - 7PM DCA Main Stage Theatre

2501 NW 11th St, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33311

“Attendees are invited to watch, listen, and learn as the sounds of Duke Ellington and Ella Fitzgerald underscore the African American pursuit of liberty and justice. From the early movements of history all the way to BLM, we dance, tap, and swing our way through history highlighting familiar stories with poetry and the blues. This American Blues story is a show for everyone by everyone”, Israel Charles, Artistic Director.
