The Diaspora Vibe Cultural Arts Incubator (DVCAI) will host its quarterly online conversation, "Back-Chat: What’s in Your Container?," on Thursday, April 23, 2026. The virtual gathering runs from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. ET and focuses on the experiences of diasporic cultural producers and artists.

The event coincides with DVCAI’s 30th anniversary of supporting artists from the Caribbean and Latin American Diaspora. This session offers a space for dialogue and reflection on community, culture, and contemporary art, highlighting the voices of creators who have participated in DVCAI’s programs since 1996.

Featured Artists and Program Highlights

The upcoming session features a panel of four artists:

  • Breeana Thorne

  • Jevon Brown

  • Lance Minto-Strouse

  • Myah Smith

Back-Chat functions as a thoughtful virtual gathering designed to foster creative exchange between community members, scholars, and arts supporters. The series specifically explores how the organization’s support has influenced the creative journeys of its residents and scholarship recipients.

The event is free to attend, though donations to support the nonprofit's mission are encouraged. Interested participants can register through the official registration link or join the session directly via the organization’s website.

Founded as a nonprofit arts incubator, DVCAI is dedicated to nurturing emerging artists through exhibitions, international cultural exchanges, and the Artist Catalyst Awards. The organization frequently partners with global presenting groups to enhance residency experiences across the Caribbean and North America.
