Defining a space, Kirkby’s first collection of artisanal wool rugs, ARCHETYPE, is the epitome of modern craftmanship, capturing the essential balance of form, function, and feeling.

Designed in the Kirkby studio and handcrafted by skilled artisans, hand loomed, hand tufted and flat weave rugs express craftmanship through meticulous detail. Hand-carved elements add depth and dimension to refined designs, while bold stripes and abstract graphics make confident statements.

Influenced by the signature Kirkby palette, ARCHETYPE celebrates earthy tones and monochromatic combinations. Thoughtfully composed using a mix of responsibly sourced fibres, each rug offers a visual and sensorial experience curated to complement and enhance any interior. The brand’s debut line of rugs is accompanied by versatile collections of EasyClean Recycled Textured Velvets (ORION III) and textured weaves (SPRITZ FR).

ROOK

Inspired by the curves of a chess piece, ROOK is a luxurious hand tufted wool rug that brings sculptural presence to a space. The large-scale contemporary design is meticulously cut by hand to create a three- dimensional shape that emerges against a richly woven ground. Available in three colourways, including Green Olive, Terracotta and Natural, the ROOK rug creates a striking centrepiece that is incredibly soft underfoot.

CUT-OUT

CUT OUT features an understated duo of shapes that stand proud of a richly textured ground. Hand loomed by skilled artisans; the deep, high pile is hand carved with precision to create the three-dimensional pattern that gives that desired, comforting feeling as you step onto the plush pile.

SCRIPT

Making a statement; SCRIPT is a hand-woven flat weave rug featuring a large-scale abstract pattern made from 80% wool and 20% recycled cotton which is then washed, brushed, and sun-dried to enhance the fibres. Inspired by pixelation and contemporary art, the graphic design with its jagged edges was originally hand sketched in the Kirkby studio.

EDGE

Playing with proportions, EDGE is a modern stripe hand- woven flat weave rug made from 80% wool and 20% recycled cotton that exudes a natural, homespun appeal. Stylish in its simplicity, the mix of responsibly sourced yarns gives the rug a characterful texture and refined combinations of colour ensure versatility.

PIVOT

PIVOT is a small-scale checkerboard rug hand woven from 100% wool, featuring an interplay of cut and loop pile. This technique creates a three-dimensional surface with a natural, tactile quality. A tonal palette exudes a quiet simplicity making this rug a versatile choice.

CHROMA

Renowned for a confidently coloured library of plain textiles, Kirkby now presents its rug counterpart. CHROMA is an archetypal plain rug, meticulously hand loomed from 100% wool with a remarkably dense, high pile that is soft to the touch. Drawing from key signature colours from the Kirkby palette, CHROMA is available in a considered range of shades including jewel-like tones and warm neutrals with a subtle, tonal melange effect.

ORION III

Remastered to be a more responsible offering, ORION III, a Kirkby original, is now woven from 100% recycled polyester, while retaining the same tactile, subtly ribbed effect and refined sheen it is known and loved for.

Originally inspired by a constellation of stars, this iconic Kirkby plain has been reimagined for a modern audience and brought in line with the brands ethos of creating more responsibly.

An updated palette now includes warm, fresh tones including Pink Plaster, Sand and Pesto bringing even more versatility to the collection. Washable, OEKO-Tex 100 certified and with an EasyClean finish, ORION III remains the ultimate practical textured velvet perfect for both upholstery and drapery.

SPRITZ FR

Kirkby’s latest plain offering, SPRITZ FR, is a richly textured upholstery fabric crafted from a considered blend of natural yarns, including linen, wool, and organic cotton.

Inherently fire-retardant, SPRITZ FR is woven from the perfect combination of fibres to create a chunky, textured cloth with a blanket-like quality and a subtly peppered surface.

Presented in playful colour combinations, the palette offers a selection of colourways with a two-tone appearance, giving the fabric an intriguing three-dimensional quality.

Perfect for upholstery, SPRITZ FR is a versatile and durable fabric that feels both timeless and dynamic.
