David C. Miller, Esq. Honored With 2021 Paul S. Buchman Award
David C. Miller is the 2021 Paul S. Buchman Award honoree. The prestigious award is presented annually by the City, County, and Local Government Law (CCLGL) Section of The Florida Bar. The Section awards the honor to an attorney who has made an outstanding contribution to legal public service in the area of Local Government Law. Miller is a shareholder in the Miami office of Bryant Miller Olive P.A.
Buchman was city attorney of Plant City, Florida, for more than 42 years and was a founding member and first chair of the CCLGL Section.
“I can think of no greater professional honor than to be recognized by my colleagues, attorneys I look up to and admire,” Miller said. “It has been my pleasure to serve the Section for many years and to meet and become friends with so many accomplished local government lawyers. I will cherish this award as a permanent reminder of these experiences.”
Miller was chair of the Section for 2019-2020 and served on its governing Executive Council from 2011 to 2021.
The CCLGL Section, which represents the interests of Florida’s local government attorneys and has approximately 1,700 members, functions as a vehicle for lawyers who serve local governments. It helps them to build networks, exchange ideas, continue their legal education, and advocate on issues important to them and their clients.
“David is a well-deserving recipient of the 2021 Paul S. Buchman Award, which is typically bestowed upon an attorney with a significant, longtime career in the field of Local Government Law,” said JoLinda Herring, Esq., BMO’s CEO and Managing Shareholder. “David is highly respected in the legal community, and this award further proves his commitment and dedication to the CCLGL, Florida’s municipal community, Labor and Employment Law, and more.”
Miller is board-certified in Labor and Employment Law by The Florida Bar. An attorney for more than 20 years, his focus is on labor unions, employment litigation and human resources counseling, exclusively representing management. He also represents public sector employers who sponsor pension plans. For more information about Miller, visit www.bmolaw.com/lawyer/david-c-miller.
