ree

How a hometown visionary is blending entertainment, With a mic, a message, and an eye for style, Daniella Duran is building a new playbook—one where culture, community, and women’s voices lead the game.

In a city as vibrant and multilayered as Miami, Daniella Duran is redefining what it means to lead at the intersection of sports, fashion, and media. As a journalist, content creator, and founder of Didi Sports and Did You Podcast, Duran has built a cultural bridge that spotlights Latin voices, empowers women in male-dominated spaces, and champions storytelling with soul. Whether she’s interviewing football icons or partnering with global brands like YSL and Rare Beauty, her work pulses with purpose and style.

With deep roots in the world of fĂștbol and a fearless eye for aesthetics, Duran views the game not just as a sport but as a cultural movement. Her platforms offer more than commentary—they’re spaces for connection, identity, and disruption. Through her lens, jerseys meet runway, and strategy meets self-expression, all against the electric backdrop of Miami.

In this exclusive conversation, Miami Living sat down with Daniella to talk legacy, leadership, and the bold blend of passions that fuel her work. From tactical analysis to fashion-forward storytelling, she shares what drives her and what’s coming next as fĂștbol, fashion, and female power converge on the global stage.

You’ve carved out a bold space where fashion, fĂștbol, and media intersect. What inspired you to blend these worlds, and why do you think they work so strongly together, especially in a city like Miami?

Daniella Duran: FĂștbol was a huge part of my life from a young age, but so were fashion and storytelling. Bringing those three worlds together felt natural to me. They’re all cultural languages, ways of expressing who we are. In a city like Miami, where cultures collide in the best way, that fusion makes even more sense. FĂștbol here isn’t just a sport, it’s an identity. Fashion isn’t just clothes, it’s attitude. And the media is the perfect platform to amplify it all.

From working with icons like JoĂŁo FĂ©lix and Sergio AgĂŒero to partnering with brands like YSL and Rare Beauty, you’ve built a diverse portfolio. How do you choose which collaborations align with your personal and professional brand?

Daniella Duran: Everything I do has to feel aligned with who I am and what I stand for. I always ask: Does this brand or person bring something meaningful to the table? Are they pushing culture forward? Do they have a story worth telling? I look for real connection, not just a commercial opportunity. If there’s a powerful message behind it, that’s where I want to be.

What has your experience been like as a Latina woman leading in sports media and marketing, two historically male-dominated industries?

Daniella Duran: It’s been challenging, but also incredibly empowering. As a Latina woman, I’ve had to carve out space where people didn’t always expect me to be. That’s taught me to be bold, strategic, and authentic. It’s also beautiful to see how other women feel inspired and encouraged to enter the space. We’re not just showing up, we’re making room for the next generation, too.

With the U.S. set to host the FIFA Club World Cup in 2025, what insight do you have to offer about how football, fashion, and female leadership will be converging on the global stage?

Daniella Duran: We’re in a powerful moment. FĂștbol is becoming more global and more cultural, and that’s where we, as women, step in. Fashion isn’t just about aesthetics anymore; it’s a statement of identity. And female leadership is shaping the narrative in ways we haven’t seen before. In 2025, I think we’ll see all of that come together on the world stage. It’s going to be loud, bold, and Miami will be at the center of it.

Didi Sports and Did You Podcast are both powerful platforms. What motivated you to launch them, and what kinds of stories or voices are you most passionate about highlighting?

I launched them because I felt there was a gap in sports content that spoke from emotion, culture, and human experience. Didi Sports is my way of showing the game through a more intimate, more personal lens. And Did You Podcast is all about giving the mic to people whose voices aren’t always heard, especially women, Latin creatives, and people who are reshaping the industry from the inside.

Fashion plays a huge role in how athletes and creators express themselves. How do you see personal style as a tool for empowerment in sports culture today?

Daniella Duran: Style is a form of claiming space. It’s saying, “This is who I am beyond the jersey, beyond the game.” Today, athletes are culture-makers, and what they wear speaks volumes. For me, personal style is a way to own your narrative. It’s saying: “I tell my story my way.”

Miami is central to your identity and aesthetic. How has the city influenced your creative vision and how you approach storytelling in your work?

Daniella Duran: Miami taught me that there’s no one way to be Latino. Here, culture is celebrated in every accent, every rhythm, every shade. That gave me permission to show up fully as myself. The city’s energy, colors, and spirit are all part of how I tell stories: loud, honest, and full of flavor.

What are your favorite spots in Miami to relax and unwind?

Daniella Duran: South Pointe at sunset is my go-to spot to disconnect and recharge. I also love cozy cafĂ©s in Coconut Grove for a quiet moment, and when I need creative inspiration, I’ll head to the PAMM or walk through the Design District; it always sparks something.

What’s something most people would be surprised to know about you?

Daniella Duran: I’m a total tactics nerd! I love breaking down matches, studying formations, and analyzing the game like it’s chess. There’s a whole fĂștbol-obsessed Daniella behind the camera who’s deep into strategy and game IQ.

I want my legacy to be about opening doors. I want young Latinas to look at my path and say, “If she did it, I can too.” I hope to leave a mark of authenticity, courage, and community. You can create with purpose, lead with heart, and shine, without asking for permission.
