Da Angelino’s al Bàcaro Is Your New Go-To for Italian Wine and Small Plates

ree

If your idea of a perfect afternoon involves sunshine, a crisp glass of wine and a few irresistible bites shared with friends, Coconut Grove just delivered. Da Angelino Cucina Italiana, the latest concept from South Florida hospitality leaders Graspa Group and Ariete Hospitality, has officially opened al Bàcaro, a Venetian-inspired tavern tucked just behind the restaurant at CocoWalk.

Inspired by Venice’s neighborhood bàcari—the casual wine bars where locals pop in for a quick gottino (small pour) and a snack—al Bàcaro brings that same relaxed rhythm to the Grove. Think mostly open-air seating, a breezy European feel and zero pressure to do anything other than sip, snack and stay awhile.

Aperitivo, Grove-Style

Al Bàcaro is all about the Italian art of aperitivo. It’s the kind of place where you might stop by “just for one” and end up lingering through golden hour. The vibe is informal and social, designed for spontaneous drop-ins rather than white-tablecloth commitments.

Small Plates with Big Personality

Food here is built for sharing—or not, we won’t judge. The menu centers on cicchetti, Venice’s beloved small bites, alongside generous boards and freshly made focaccia served warm.

Standouts include:

  • Stuffed focaccia, sliced into shareable wedges and filled to order with Italian favorites like prosciutto di Parma and stracciatella, mortadella with pistachio or spicy sausage with broccoli rabe and burrata.

  • Taglieri boards layered with imported Italian salumi and cheeses, plus honey, olives and rustic bread—ideal for grazing.

  • Classic cicchetti, from house-made meatballs and saffron arancini to potato croquettes with lemon aioli and a crispy seafood fritto served cone-style.

It’s the kind of menu that encourages mixing, matching and passing plates across the table.

Wine Comes First (As It Should)

True to Venetian tradition, wine is the heart of al Bàcaro. Italian selections are available by the glass—or by the gottino, a petite three-ounce pour perfect for tasting. You can even build your own flight of three, which feels dangerously fun in the best way.

Add a classic Aperol Spritz, served the Venetian way, and you’re officially in aperitivo mode.

The Details

Al Bàcaro is located directly behind Da Angelino Cucina Italiana and is open daily from noon to 10 p.m.

In a neighborhood that already knows how to do outdoor dining right, al Bàcaro feels like a natural fit—unpretentious, flavorful and tailor-made for Miami’s love of good food, good wine and even better company.
