Crestron Unveils Latest Enhancements to Home OS 4
For Miami residents seeking a smarter, more connected living experience, Crestron Electronics unveiled the latest enhancements to its Crestron Home® OS 4 platform earlier this year. The new features bring greater customization options, expanded device compatibility, and streamlined tools, enhancing the smart home experience for both homeowners and dealers.
Whether managing lighting, climate, security, or entertainment, Miami homeowners can now enjoy seamless control and remote access, perfect for maintaining their home settings in the city's dynamic lifestyle or while traveling.
One of the highlights was the addition of smart home conditional sequences, enabling users to create more personalized automation settings. Attendees saw demonstrations of how the system can adjust lighting automatically at sunset or prepare a home theater for movie night with a single command. These updates simplify the configuration process for dealers while providing more tailored options for clients.
Crestron also introduced a branding feature that allows dealers to add their logos to the Crestron Home app and touchscreens, offering a more polished, professional look for their installations.
Lighting control saw significant improvements with the integration of Lutron Ketra lighting, which adds even more options for homeowners to customize their spaces. Dealers can now benefit from the flexibility of Crestron’s open ecosystem alongside the advanced capabilities offered by the Crestron Home SIMPL Integration Modules, which allow for custom programming.
Security features also received an upgrade, with better user management for door locks and new compatibility with the Yale Pro® 2 Deadbolt Lock. Attendees were particularly interested in the expanded access control, including pin code protection for specific areas of the home, allowing homeowners to limit who can manage certain touchscreens.
Crestron also expanded its integration options, including support for the upcoming Digital Graphics Engine 1000, Saros® PoE Speakers, and Axxess Industries’ PrivacyService for the hospitality sector. These updates demonstrate Crestron’s ongoing commitment to providing a flexible, open platform that continues to evolve with user and dealer needs.
