Community Foundation of Broward Buys Downtown Fort Lauderdale Headquarters for $5.7 Million
The Community Foundation of Broward has purchased a three-story, 23,000-square-foot building at 200 N. Andrews Ave. in downtown Fort Lauderdale for $5.7 million, creating a permanent headquarters that will anchor its philanthropic work across Broward County.
The transaction closed on Sept. 11, 2026, and the property sits in the civic core of Broward County, near the proposed new Fort Lauderdale City Hall, the Broward County Government Center, a planned city park, the historic Sistrunk Boulevard corridor and the Brightline station. The building will function as a hub where donors, nonprofit organizations, civic leaders and the Foundation’s philanthropy experts can meet, collaborate and explore new opportunities to address community needs.
Renovations, including retrofitting the structure to hurricane standards, are scheduled to begin in 2027, with move-in targeted for early 2028. A second phase will complete the second floor, adding dedicated areas for nonprofits and fundholders to gather, learn and work alongside Foundation staff on philanthropic strategy and impact. The Foundation said the move from leased offices to an owned facility is intended to provide long-term financial stability and avoid future uncertainty related to leases or rent increases, without affecting its ongoing grantmaking.
To support the project, the Community Foundation is launching a $10 million campaign, “Lead with Love. Build the Future.” The effort will fund building renovations and create an endowment for long-term maintenance, while the Foundation continues to manage more than 600 charitable funds and expand services such as its Broward Center for Nonprofit Excellence.
