A pastel-pink castle has just listed for $24 million, and it’s unlike anything else in Miami. Designed by acclaimed architect Ralph Portuondo, the 12,863-square-foot waterfront estate at 1840 S Bayshore Lane pairs Gothic grandeur with tropical serenity — and now, modern livability, courtesy of design and furniture studio Vesta Home.
Vesta designer Alex Ventura drew inspiration from the home’s Jerusalem stone arches, 30-foot vaulted ceilings and intricate stained glass, grounding the historic architecture with calm neutrals, sculptural silhouettes and contemporary brass and glass accents. Subtle shimmer dances across furniture bases and lighting, while layered textures and soft upholstery bring warmth to the stone and glass structure.
“This home is a masterpiece of contrasts,” says Ventura. “We wanted to celebrate its Gothic storybook architecture while introducing a refined, modern softness— something that feels as serene as it is spectacular.”

In the great room, Vesta’s twin Arista sofas face one another in a mirrored layout—designed to frame unobstructed ocean views and invite conversation. Outside, a keystone-edged infinity pool, rooftop sundeck and water-view terraces complete the fairytale.
Every room was staged and furnished by Vesta, with all pieces available for purchase with the residence, offering the rare opportunity to move into a fully realized design.
Represented by Lourdes Alatriste of Douglas Elliman Real Estate, one of South Florida’s leading luxury agents, the property sits in a coveted Coconut Grove waterfront enclave with proximity to premier schools, dining and marinas.
