CityPlace Doral Earns Silver Maxi at the 2023 ICSC Global Awards Ceremony

Updated: Jun 30, 2023

CityPlace Doral – a mixed-use development in Miami-Dade County managed by Madison Marquette – has announces it has earned a coveted and highly competitive MAXI award from ICSC (Innovating Commerce Serving Communities) during the prestigious Global Awards Ceremony held during the ICSC 2023 Las Vegas conference in May.

The MAXI Awards recognize innovative events, programs and technologies that add value to the retail real estate industry. Award categories are designed to recognize the evolution of the industry while rewarding creativity and innovation.

“We are incredibly honored to be awarded a silver MAXI award at the recent Global Awards Ceremony in Las Vegas,” said Mauro Olivieri, general manager at CityPlace Doral. “We are committed to bringing our community memorable experiences for the whole family to enjoy. These awards truly showcase the dedication, collaboration, execution and marketing that goes into activating our center. This wouldn’t be possible without my internal and external teams who share my passion for excellence and curating innovative events for our visitors.”

This year’s MAXI awards were incredibly competitive with 170 entries, 100 finalists and 48 winning entries representing 15 countries around the world, making the stakes especially high and the rewards even more gratifying.

CityPlace Doral earned a silver award in the experiential category for exemplary work in “Cultural Experience Changes Perceptions” with its Kiddoween Halloween Party and Day of the Dead events. Madison Marquette relied on its proprietary methods for analyzing market data to support the center’s management team and create a multi-week program featuring two culturally significant events – Kiddoween Halloween Party and Day of the Dead – to increase traffic and sales, but more importantly, attract Hispanic families before the holiday season.

To amplify this programming, CityPlace Doral engaged in a partnership with Durée & Company to embark on an awareness campaign for the center a destination and to create a fresh, innovative public relations marketing strategy. The Center also partnered with Kiddos Magazine, a free bi-monthly family-focused publication, to sponsor the Day of the Dead event. During the ongoing efforts during the promotional period, CityPlace Doral met and exceeded the overall objectives for this innovative cultural experience.

Through promotional efforts, 116,576,661 media impressions were generated in the targeted Hispanic market. The Kiddoween Halloween Party garnered 42,472,922 total impressions and the public relations efforts for the Day of the Dead initiative resulted in 74,103,739 total impressions. Top media placements included NBC’s “6 in the Mix,” Telemundo 51, Miami Herald, Secret Miami, Thrillist, Miami Living Magazine, Yahoo!, Off The Mrkt and more.

Madison Marquette’s The Culver Steps and Bell Tower were also named finalist in this year’s MAXI awards competition. To view the 2023 winners – click here.
