Celebrating Women's Impact: The Ritz-Carlton, South Beach and Women’s Power Series Join Forces Again

Over 200 esteemed guests convened at The Ritz-Carlton, South Beach on Friday, March 8th, in honor of International Women’s Day during the second annual Women’s Power Breakfast, a flagship event of the Women’s Power Series. Founded by the dynamic mother-daughter duo, Dayssi Olarte de Kanavos and Sophia Kanavos, the gathering successfully raised $50,000 in support of Women of Tomorrow, an initiative dedicated to empowering at-risk young women through mentorship programs and scholarship opportunities.


The event, co-hosted by Dayssi, Sophia, and Dana Jacobsohn, the chief development officer of U.S. luxury brands and global mixed-use at Marriott International, commenced with a sumptuous breakfast followed by a series of engaging panel discussions. Led by the distinguished keynote speaker Lydia Fenet, CEO of Lydia Fenet Agency, these panels delved into pertinent topics such as finance and investments, health and wellness, and technology and innovation.

Noteworthy speakers graced the stage, including luminaries such as Karolina Kurkova, co-founder of Gryph & Ivy Rose and former Victoria’s Secret Angel; Rebecca Parekh, co-founder and CEO of THE WELL; Kelly Blanco, esteemed TV presenter and Miami Heat in-game host; and Janine Booth, the acclaimed James Beard Award-winning chef.


The esteemed roster of speakers also included industry stalwarts such as Dana Jacobsohn, chief development officer of U.S. luxury brands and global mixed-use at Marriott International; Alexandra Wilkis Wilson, co-founder of GLAMSQUAD and Gilt; Lindsay Jurist-Rosner, co-founder and CEO of Wellthy; and many others who shared invaluable insights and experiences.


Following the enlightening discussions, attendees had the opportunity to partake in a networking session, further fostering connections and collaborations. Additionally, the Women’s Marketplace provided a platform for female-founded businesses to showcase their products and services, aligning with the organization’s core mission of championing women's empowerment and entrepreneurship.
