Celebrate Dance Excellence: XXVIII International Ballet Festival of Miami



The XXVIII International Ballet Festival of Miami, artistic director Eriberto Jiménez, considered one of the most important in the United States, will take place from July 22 to August 13 attracting an affluent local, national and international audience and also Live Streamed. The IBFM invites more than 70 artists representing some of the most famous Ballet and Contemporary companies from Europe, Latin America, Asia and the United States, with performances in different venues in Miami Beach, Fort Lauderdale and Miami - receiving stellar national and international reviews. The Festival events also include Art Exhibitions, Book Presentations and Dance Films.


The IBFM Festival Opening night takes place Saturday, July 22, with a VIP reception and the official unveiling and signing of the IBFM poster, created each year by a celebrated artist. The statuette for the “A Life for Dance” Lifetime Achievement Award will be unveiled with art exhibitions inspired by dance in the galleries of the Miami Hispanic Cultural Arts Center.

From July 23 to August 14, the IBFM offers the International Intensive Ballet Summer Camp, hosting students from different countries culminating in a special performance by the students attending the Summer Camp.

The International Ballet Festival of Miami presents seven spectacular performances:


“IBFM Young Medalists” showcasing new dance talents who have won medals in different national and international competitions, July 29/8pm at Miami Theater Center. On July 30 IBFM presented a youth Marathon Dance performance free and open to the public at the Miami Beach Bandshell.

“Contemporary Galas” featuring Contemporary Dance Companies from Italy, Colombia, Switzerland, France & USA, August 3/ 8:00 pm, Lincoln Rd Miami Beach (free outdoors); August 4/ 8 pm Lehman Theater, August 5/8pm Dennis C. Moss Center and August 6/ 5:00 pm Amaturo Theater Broward Performing Arts Center.


“The IBFM Grand Finale” presents the acclaimed Two Ballet Galas featuring Principal Dancers representing companies from Latin America, Europe, Mexico, Asia and the United States with a different program each night: Sat. August 12 / 8:00 pm “Etoiles Classical Grand Gala and presentation of IBFM Lifetime Achievement Award” and Sun.
