Miami's Casa Lily Reimagines the Soccer Cleat as High Fashion Ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup

As anticipation builds for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Miami-based footwear brand Casa Lily is bringing football culture into a new design conversation. The brand has partnered with sports artist Lily Cantero to transform the soccer cleat into a sculptural high heel, reworking one of the game's most recognizable objects through a fashion lens.

Created by mother-daughter duo Cynthia Lau and Idania Miranda, Casa Lily is designed in Miami and handcrafted in Portugal. The brand has previously presented collections during Milan Fashion Week and Paris Fashion Week, building its identity around footwear that connects craftsmanship, femininity, and international design.

For this collaboration, the familiar structure of the cleat is preserved but reimagined as a collectible fashion object. The result keeps the visual language of the sport while moving it away from the field and into the worlds of art and design.

Cantero is known for work inspired by football and its most recognizable figures, including Lionel Messi, Diego Maradona, Pelé, and FIFA president Gianni Infantino. Her artwork has been featured at international sporting events and recognized by outlets including CNN and The New York Times.

The design includes several details tied to the sport, including the phrase "For the love of the game" along the side of the shoe and an etched tongue pattern that resembles the markings of a soccer field. The piece reflects how football's influence continues to move beyond competition and into broader conversations around identity, creativity, and culture.

The collaboration also arrives at a moment when Miami is preparing for its role as a host city for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. For Casa Lily, the project connects the city's fashion and design scene with the global attention building around the tournament.

By reworking the cleat as high fashion, Casa Lily adds a Miami perspective to the growing overlap between sport, art, and style. More information about the brand and its collections is available at Casa Lily.
