Canon USA has partnered with Breakthrough Miami to introduce the Hopeful, Healthy, Oceans Initiative (H2O), a summer enrichment program designed to provide local middle school students with hands-on experiences in marine science and visual arts.

Hosted at the University of Miami, the initiative offers students access to state-of-the-art laboratory facilities and educational resources typically unavailable to historically underserved communities. The curriculum combines scientific learning with artistic expression, emphasizing the ecological importance of coral reef ecosystems.
Students engage in presentations led by marine science experts and participate in guided art workshops, using creative media to interpret and share what they've learned about ocean conservation. Their finished works are exhibited at Canon-sponsored events and featured in a curated display at the University of Miami’s Rosenstiel Library.
The H2O initiative reflects Canon’s commitment to youth empowerment, environmental stewardship, and community education. Organizers hope to expand the program’s reach and impact in future years.
