Rosewood Miramar Beach a Dreamy Destination Set on the American Riviera
Nestled on the coast between a pristine Pacific beach and the Santa Ynez Mountains in California, the Rosewood Miramar Beach is one of America’s most idyllic and impressive properties. The newly constructed Montecito, California resort is impeccably manicured and picturesque, a sprawling estate that blends traditional glamour with residential elegance. The coastal retreat offers something for travelers of all ages, making it a destination you’ll never want to leave.
ACCOMODATIONS
The Rosewood Miramar Beach is home to 158 ultra-luxury rooms, including 35 suites, spanning 16 acres of meticulously-groomed oceanfront property. The level of refinement is felt throughout your stay, with a deliberate, laid-back sophistication and incredibly attentive staff that greet you by name and make you feel like you’re being hosted on a private estate. The only resort in Southern California to offer guest rooms set directly over the sand, the mix of beach house guest rooms and garden bungalows are spacious and thoughtfully designed with designer bedding, a top shelf bar, and expansive marble-encased bathrooms with freestanding tubs. Rooms are large, luxurious, and light-filled, and bungalows are furnished with private patios surrounded by lush greenery and beach, garden, or mountain views to take in the crisp California air.
DINING
The food and beverage on property is an experience in and of itself. Helmed by Director of Culinary Operations Massimo Falsini, there is something for everyone, from casual to Michelin-starred options. Stylish oceanfront restaurant Caruso’s delivers a truly special experience that blends tastes from Southern Italy to coastal Montecito, with local ingredients and dishes including hand pulled burrata and peaches, charred pacific octopus, Sonoma spring lamb and Santa Barbara uni procured by a local diver. The restaurant’s attention to detail in all aspects - food, drink, presentation, service and setting directly atop a private cliffside beach - is absolutely spectacular, and it is no surprise that the restaurant recently earned a MICHELIN Star and a MICHELIN Green Star.
Another fine dining option on property is AMA Sushi, a high-end sushi restaurant that showcases always-fresh ingredients complemented by an extensive selection of wine, sake, and innovative cocktails. Casual dining with an elevated touch is offered poolside at the Cabana Bar, beachside at the Miramar Beach Bar, and in the Manor House at the Revere Room, which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food highlights local-first ingredients from nearby farms and purveyors, achieving subtle sophistication with dishes like the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes and homemade jams served at breakfast, the beachside Mayan Ceviche, and a perfectly served brioche bun burger.
ACTIVITIES
With the Pacific Ocean in the resort’s backyard, the private beach club lifestyle is at your disposal with beach butlers available to serve food and drinks from the comfort of your beach chair. An endless list of active pursuits includes beachside yoga, swimming, kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, and surfing. The property features two resort-style pools (one adults only) with full cabana service and an ice cream shop, as well as bocce and shuffleboard courts. Seasonal family and kids activities are programmed throughout the year from stargazing to movie nights, and fire pits around the property are perfect for late night gatherings–be sure to ask the front desk for a pre-packaged signature smores kit. To unwind, Sense Spa offers expertly appointed relaxation rooms, steam rooms, saunas, and treatment rooms, as well as a full-service salon and nail salon, and a state-of-the-art indoor-outdoor fitness studio. A curated menu of unique spa treatments and rituals are inspired by the native plants, like the Alkaline Marine Cocoon and the Montecito Sage Purification. For some retail therapy, the shopping on property is on par with what you would expect at a luxury mall, including boutiques by Brunello Cucinelli, Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop, James Perse and The Webster. A house car is also available to take you into the mountainside towns of Montecito (2 minutes away) or Santa Barbara (8 minutes away) for shopping and dining, and the concierge can curate off-property experiences from private winery tours to active excursions on the ocean.
