Broward Children's Center — a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving infants, children and young adults who are developmentally disabled and medically fragile and their families — unveiled a brand-new nursery at its Children’s Comprehensive Care Center (CompCare) in Pompano Beach. To celebrate the ribbon cutting Broward Children’s Center hosted a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Broward County dignitaries, including Pompano Beach Commissioner Alison Fournier, Broward Children’s Center’s team, board members, families and representatives from Florida Blue Foundation, Delta Pilots Charitable Fund and Closets By Design of Pompano Beach, which sponsored the transformational project, were in attendance.
The $200,000 enhancement project was made possible through generous donations from community partners, including the Florida Blue Foundation, Delta Pilots Charitable Fund and Closets By Design of Pompano Beach. The Florida Blue Foundation funded the countertops and ventilators, the Delta Pilots Charitable Fund also underwrote the ventilators, and Closets By Design of Pompano Beach donated the new cabinetry.

The renovation involved updating the 400-square-foot nursery facility to create a more conducive environment for comfort, care and functionality. This included refurbishing interior spaces with all new countertops and cabinetry, including over-the-sink cabinets, bedside nightstands, linen closets and nurses’ stations. The full renovation included painting the inside and refurbishing the plumbing and sinks. The project also included the integration of technology solutions to support the nurses and children, including new TVs and computers. Broward Children’s Center also received 15 new ventilators to support ventilator-dependent individuals.
