Churchill Downs has released a behind-the-scenes look at several contenders for the 2026 Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks, sharing new images from the backside and updated post position information for both races.
Fans can explore the official Kentucky Derby post positions and Kentucky Oaks starting gate assignments, which highlight the fields for the May 2 races at Churchill Downs in Louisville.
Among the highlighted contenders is Potente, a Kentucky Derby hopeful by sire Into Mischief out of the mare Sweet Thing. Right to Party, by Constitution out of Havin' a Party, and Bella Ballerina, by Street Sense out of Pretty City Dancer, are featured among the Kentucky Oaks prospects, along with Always a Runner, by Gun Runner out of Always Carina.
