This October, Assouline – the Paris-born, globally adored luxury publishing house – introduces Vintage Objects, an evocative new chapter in its story of cultural curation. Conceived by co-founder Prosper Assouline, the collection invites collectors, aesthetes, and design lovers to discover a trove of rare treasures sourced from antique markets, prestigious auction houses, and discerning dealers around the world.

Presented as a modern cabinet de curiosités, the assortment includes sculpted busts, globes, trinket boxes, ashtrays, bookstands, and a handful of vintage furnishings. Each piece carries the patina of discovery, transforming Assouline’s boutiques into living salons for inspiration and dialogue.

“I’ve always believed that objects tell stories,” Prosper Assouline shared in an interview. “Every item we select has a soul, a history, and a sense of mystery. These are not decorations – they are companions to thought, imagination, and conversation.”

Echoing the maison’s philosophy that a library is more than a room but a sanctuary for ideas, Vintage Objects extends Assouline’s universe beyond the printed page. The collection celebrates the tactile beauty of the physical world – the same spirit that animates Assouline’s now-iconic TravelDesign, and Classics book series, beloved by bibliophiles from Miami to Marrakech.

In South Florida, where design and lifestyle intersect effortlessly – from the sunlit modernism of Coral Gables to the storied Art Deco facades of South Beach – the launch resonates deeply. Assouline’s boutiques at Bal Harbour Shops and the Miami Design District have long served as destinations for collectors and creators alike. With Vintage Objects, these spaces evolve into immersive galleries where literature, art, and history converge.

“Miami has an energy that celebrates beauty and individuality,” says Assouline. “It’s a city that appreciates craftsmanship and global perspective, which makes it a natural home for this collection.”

Ranging from $500 to $3,000, each piece in the Vintage Objects series is personally selected by Prosper Assouline and his in-house team. “We wanted to create something that feels intimate,” he explains. “It’s about the pleasure of finding the extraordinary in the everyday – and about living surrounded by things that inspire.”

Assouline, founded in Paris in 1994 by Prosper and Martine Assouline, remains the first luxury brand on culture, with more than 2,000 titles and collaborations spanning the worlds of art, design, travel, and fashion. Today, its boutiques are destinations in their own right – part salon, part library, part time capsule.

As the Vintage Objects collection debuts, it reminds us that collecting is more than acquisition – it’s an act of curiosity, connection, and preservation. And in Miami, where the past and the avant-garde meet beneath a constant sun, Assouline’s newest venture feels perfectly at home.
