Ten North Group announced that its 13th annual Art of Transformation (AOT) will take place Wednesday, December 3rd through Saturday, December 6th, 2025 at the Ten North Group Campus in the Opa-locka Arts District. This year’s theme, “At the Edge of Entanglement,” will be featured across six original exhibitions spanning two city blocks, including the recently restored Opa-locka Historic City Hall, now a key cultural hub in the city.
Once a neglected Moorish Revival landmark, the restored City Hall has become a catalyst for Opa-locka’s cultural and economic growth, highlighting the city as a destination for creativity and community, and paving the way for the future Florida Museum of Black History.

Presented by Ten North Group, AOT is made possible with support from R4 Capital, the City of Opa-locka, the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau, and Art of Black. As an official Art Basel Miami Beach satellite event and an affiliate of Miami Art Week, AOT continues to showcase the transformative power of art in shaping communities.
The 2025 theme, “At the Edge of Entanglement,” explores the complex cultural, historical, and political forces influencing Black art today. Artists will confront issues of identity, oppression, resilience, and liberation—turning struggle into creation. The exhibitions feature painting, performance, photography, sculpture, and literary work, highlighting the interplay of memory, innovation, beauty, and heritage.
Looking Ahead: The Florida Museum of Black History
Opa-locka’s rising cultural profile is reflected in Ten North Group’s ongoing efforts to host the future Florida Museum of Black History. In 2024, Opa-locka was named one of the top three proposed sites for the museum after a statewide evaluation, affirming the city’s historical and cultural importance. Ten North Group continues to advance this vision through events like AOT, which attract visitors, celebrate creative expression, and solidify Opa-locka’s place on Florida’s cultural map.
Dr. Willie Logan, President and CEO of Ten North Group, said:"Opa-locka is entering its next century with purpose and pride. The Art of Transformation is more than an exhibition; it announces a city emerging as a cultural destination, where creativity, culture, and history converge. Through experiences like AOT, we advance the vision of the Florida Museum of Black History, lift our neighborhoods, and welcome new audiences to Opa-locka’s rich cultural landscape."
