Art Basel Returns to Basel With Global Program From June 18–21

Art Basel will return to Messe Basel from June 18 to 21, turning the Swiss city into a temporary hub for galleries, collectors, artists, and cultural figures from around the world.
The 2025 edition brings together contemporary and historic works by artists including Kara Walker, Pierre Huyghe, Ibrahim Mahama, Ed Ruscha, Willem de Kooning, and Helen Frankenthaler, as well as pieces by Pablo Picasso, Mark Rothko, Louise Bourgeois, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Cy Twombly, Yayoi Kusama, Jeff Koons, Arthur Jafa, and Tracey Emin.
A new project titled Warehouse Artefacts, presented by art.klub at Messe Basel, will connect contemporary art with club culture through an immersive environment created by Daft Punk co-founder Thomas Bangalter, artist Julian Charriere, and Berlin-based DJ and producer Rampa. The experience will reconfigure the fairgrounds as a fragmented dancefloor informed by rave culture.
Beyond the halls, Art Basel will activate public spaces across the city, with installations such as Kader Attia’s "Untitled (Rainsticks)" and Haegue Yang’s "Intermediates," which respond to Basel’s courtyards, riverfront, and bridges. Museum interiors, public squares, and historic landmarks will host works that extend the fair’s reach into the urban landscape.
Public days at Messe Basel are scheduled from Thursday, June 18, to Sunday, June 21, from 11 am to 7 pm each day. Additional information is available on the official Art Basel website and visitors can purchase tickets online.
