Art Basel Qatar Concludes Historic Inaugural Edition

Art Basel has finished the debut edition of Art Basel Qatar, reporting more than 17,000 visitors at M7 and the Doha Design District. The event successfully launched a long term platform for artistic exchange and market growth in the MENASA region.

The inaugural fair drew a global audience during its VIP and public days. Nearly half of the private collectors and patrons in attendance traveled from within the region, while thousands more viewed special projects across Msheireb. Visitors also arrived from Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Americas to explore the cultural dynamics of Qatar.

Participating galleries reported strong engagement with institutions and new collectors. Sales were consistent across various price points, with significant activity from buyers in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Europe. Representatives from over 85 international museums and foundations attended the fair, using the event as a site for institutional discovery.

The fair was organized in partnership with Qatar Sports Investments (QSI) and QC+. This debut highlights the country’s increasing role as a center for artistic production and reinforces Art Basel’s commitment to the regional art ecosystem.

Detailed information regarding the gallery lineup and program highlights is available on the official Art Basel website.
