Art Basel Hong Kong will return to the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from March 27 to 29, 2026, with Preview Days on March 25 and 26, presenting 240 galleries from 41 countries and territories, expanded curated sectors, and citywide collaborations that reinforce Hong Kong’s position as a leading hub for artistic exchange in Asia and beyond.

Expanded Fair Program

The 2026 edition of Art Basel Hong Kong will bring together new sector developments and fresh curatorial perspectives while deepening its engagement with the host city. The fair will feature 240 galleries from 41 countries and territories, with more than half operating spaces across the Asia Pacific region. The show, whose Global Lead Partner is UBS, will be held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC), with additional programming unfolding across multiple sites in the city.

By convening galleries and artists from across Asia and the wider international art community, Art Basel Hong Kong aims to strengthen connections between regional artistic practices and global audiences and to underscore the city’s role as a vital platform for contemporary art.

New Encounters Leadership

Encounters, the sector dedicated to large-scale sculpture, installation, and performance, will enter a new chapter under an international curatorial team. The sector will be led by Mami Kataoka, working alongside co-curators Isabella Tam, Alia Swastika, and Hirokazu Tokuyama, who will jointly shape the presentation of ambitious projects within and beyond the fair.

Extending beyond the exhibition halls at the HKCEC, Encounters will include an offsite presentation at Pacific Place. There, a site-specific digital animation installation by artist Christine Sun Kim will be presented as part of the sector, supported by Swire Properties, the Official Partner of offsite Encounters.

Asia Debut Of Zero 10

Art Basel Hong Kong 2026 will host the Asia debut of Zero 10, Art Basel’s global initiative dedicated to art of the digital era, following its first presentation at Art Basel Miami Beach in December 2025. Zero 10 will provide a dedicated platform on the show floor for exhibiting and collecting digital practices, including works that explore new media and technology, extending Art Basel’s long-standing commitment to artistic innovation.

Focused Kabinett Presentations

The Kabinett sector will feature 35 focused thematic presentations staged within participating galleries’ booths. Emphasizing both historical and contemporary practices from the Asia Pacific region, Kabinett will offer concentrated insights into individual artists, movements, or curatorial ideas, complementing the broader fair presentations.

Citywide Public Program

Collaboration across disciplines and sites will remain central to the 2026 program. Art Basel Hong Kong’s citywide Public Program will again offer free public access to a range of events, including Film, Conversations, Exchange Circle, and collaborative projects developed with cultural institutions across Hong Kong.

For the third consecutive year, Art Basel will partner with Tai Kwun to present Artists’ Night on March 27. The evening program will spotlight emerging and experimental performers, musicians, and visual artists, further extending the fair’s engagement with the city’s cultural landscape.

Onsite at the HKCEC, Art Basel Hong Kong will also collaborate with Hong Kong Ballet on State of Wonder, a series of dance excerpts designed to integrate movement into the fair’s environments and to encourage dialogue between visual art and performance.
