Art Basel 2026 Closes With Strong Sales and Global Participation in Basel
Art Basel has concluded its 2026 edition in Basel, recording 90,000 visitors across VIP and public days and affirming its position as a central meeting point for the international art market.

Directed by Maike Cruse, the fair brought together 290 galleries from 43 countries and territories, showcasing Modern and postwar works, historical rediscoveries, contemporary and emerging artists, large-scale installations, and cross-media practices. Galleries reported strong sales across sectors and price points, highlighting resilient demand among private collectors and institutions.
The event welcomed visitors from 103 countries, with particularly strong attendance from Europe alongside leading collectors and arts professionals from the Americas, Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. Representatives from more than 270 museums and foundations were present, reinforcing the fair’s role as a key platform for institutional engagement.
This year’s edition introduced Basel Exclusive, marked the European debut of Zero 10, continued the second cycle of the Art Basel Awards, and expanded its public and citywide programming across Basel.
