With infinite sorrow, the Armani Group announces the passing of its creator, founder, and tireless driving force: Giorgio Armani.
Il Signor Armani, as he was respectfully and admiringly known by employees and collaborators, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones. Indefatigable to the end, Mr. Armani continued to work until his final days, dedicating himself wholeheartedly to the company, its collections, and the many ongoing and future projects that bore his signature.

Over a career that spanned decades, Giorgio Armani built more than a fashion empire—he shaped a way of life. His vision extended beyond clothing, redefining elegance across design, beauty, hospitality, and culture. Known for his clarity of thought, sharp pragmatism, and boundless curiosity, he connected deeply with people and always remained attentive to the world around him.
A proud son of Milan, Mr. Armani was a generous and active contributor to the city and to society at large. His philanthropy, leadership, and unwavering commitment to independence of thought and action have left an indelible mark, not just on fashion, but on Italian and global culture.
For fifty years, Giorgio Armani led his namesake company with passion, patience, and integrity. His spirit of independence and family will remain the cornerstone of the Armani Group. His family and employees—many of whom have been by his side for decades—have pledged to continue his legacy, honoring his vision and values.
“In this company, we have always felt like part of a family. Today, with deep emotion, we feel the void left by the one who founded and nurtured this family with vision, passion, and dedication. But it is precisely in his spirit that we, the employees and the family members who have always worked alongside Mr. Armani, commit to protecting what he built and to carrying his company forward in his memory, with respect, responsibility, and love.”— His employees and his family
