American Heritage Schools Upper School PTO Broward Campus, in partnership with students, faculty and families, will host its fifth annual “Thanksgiving Meal in a Bag” food collection drive on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the School’s Broward campus to benefit Feeding South Florida – the leading hunger-relief organization serving South Florida. This Thanksgiving season, over 1.2 million individuals throughout Palm Beach, Broward, Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties are experiencing food insecurity. American Heritage Schools is determined not to let its community go without a traditional Thanksgiving dinner.

During the food drive, American Heritage Schools students are invited to bring a reusable grocery bag filled with one of each of the following items: cranberry sauce, canned yams, canned vegetables, canned beans, mac and cheese, rice, instant mashed potatoes, a box of pasta, stuffing mix, canned soup, packets of gravy, brownie mix, peanut or nut butter, and a gift card for a turkey.

Students can obtain volunteer hours for every donated “Thanksgiving Meal in a Bag,” regardless of their school. Feeding South Florida will offer students three volunteer hours for each bag donated, with an opportunity to earn a maximum of 15 hours. Students are encouraged to bring as many bags as they wish and the Service Hours Form from their school for a Feeding South Florida representative to sign.
