Located in the heart of CocoWalk, the new restaurant blends timeless tradition with contemporary flair, offering a warm, garden-inspired space that’s as inviting as the menu. With hospitality veteran Angelin Kometa at the helm, the concept celebrates the leisurely, elegant meals of Italy—not quite fine dining, but certainly something special. “It’s not fine dining in the traditional sense,” said Kometa. “It’s how we grew up eating in Italy – elegant but never stiff, where guests are welcomed like family.”

A Collaboration Years in the Making

Graspa Group, the team behind local favorites like Osteria and Salumeria 104, joins forces with Ariete Hospitality Group—best known for its Michelin-starred innovations—to open their first Italian concept together. The result is a restaurant rooted in decades of flavor and family tradition, yet designed for today’s Coconut Grove.

“We’ve dreamed of opening an Italian restaurant in the Grove for years,” says Andrew Falsetto, CEO of Ariete Hospitality. “But we knew we had to do it with the right partners.”

The Menu: From North to South

At Da Angelino, the menu is a journey through Italy’s many regions, from rich Brasato al Barolo to pillowy house-made pastas crafted fresh daily. Guests can begin with Crudo and Antipasti like Polpo alla Griglia, Frittura Mista, or curated cheese and salumi boards featuring truffled pecorino and aged prosciutto.

Lighter options include seasonal salads and small plates like Arancini and Mini Calzoni, while the pasta section stars dishes like Cacio e Pepe alla Ruota, made tableside, or Linguine ai Frutti di Mare for seafood lovers. From the grill, expect showstoppers like Cotoletta alla Milanese and shareable cuts of steak.

Sips That Elevate Every Bite

The wine list is a curated tour through Italy’s best regions, from bold Tuscan reds to crisp whites from Trentino and Friuli. International selections add depth, with bottles from Napa Valley, Spain, and France. Meanwhile, the cocktail menu balances classic Italian aperitivos with modern creations designed to complement the menu’s rich flavors.

A Neighborhood Destination in the Making

Designed with a nod to old-world charm, Da Angelino’s interiors blend terra-cotta and sage tones with white linen tablecloths and thoughtful personal touches, creating a warm, family-style atmosphere. With 150 seats across its indoor dining room and lush garden patio, the restaurant is poised to become a new favorite in the Grove.

“Soulful, slow, and meant to be shared—that’s what Italian food is all about,” says Kometa. “This is how we grew up eating, and we want people to feel that warmth here.”

Da Angelino Cucina Italiana opens this September at 3015 Grand Ave., Coconut Grove, FL.
