A New Era of Japanese Dining Arrives in Plantation with Saiko-i Sushi Lounge & Hibachi

Plantation is getting a serious culinary upgrade. This July, Saiko-i Sushi Lounge & Hibachi opens its newest location at the Shoppes at Broward, bringing with it the theatrical flair of teppanyaki, an impressive sushi lineup and an elevated, easy-going lounge setting.

It’s the third South Florida outpost for the concept, created by Unisolo Restaurant Group founders Tina Wang and Chef Jason Zheng, the duo behind a growing portfolio of well-loved restaurants including Coco Sushi Lounge in Delray Beach and Yakitori Sake House in Boca Raton. With this latest opening, Saiko-i is setting the stage for its most immersive experience yet.

At 6,500 square feet, the new location is the restaurant’s largest, offering a layout designed for both high-energy hibachi tables and more intimate sushi bar moments. The space features warm wood textures, bold accent lighting and art-forward interiors to create an upscale yet approachable high-style atmosphere. Add an outdoor patio, and the setup easily shifts from weeknight dinners to weekend gatherings.

“As Saiko-i expands, Plantation offers the perfect backdrop to introduce our signature blend of fresh sushi, interactive hibachi and elevated hospitality to a community eager for something new and exciting,” said Wang. “Our hibachi tables bring the energy of a live culinary performance, while our sushi bar showcases creativity and precision.”

The menu delivers on all fronts. Guests can enjoy the full hibachi experience, complete with knife tricks, flaming onion towers and plenty of chef banter – choosing entrées like Filet Mignon, Chicken & Shrimp or Lobster Tail & Steak combos. Each meal comes with soup, salad, vegetables, shrimp appetizer and steamed rice (with the option to upgrade to fried rice for $3).

Sushi lovers will find everything from traditional sashimi to signature rolls like the Lobster Seabass, topped with baked seabass and avocado or the Millionaire Roll, finished with king crab and spicy mayo. Omakase and sashimi platters round out the offerings for those who prefer to let the chef take the lead.

Beyond dinner, Saiko-i makes a strong case for midday visits. Weekday lunch specials start under $14, with options like bento boxes and hibachi combos, while bottomless brunch on weekends pairs mimosas and bloody marys with poke bowls and hot entrées. A twice-daily happy hour (early afternoon and again at 9 p.m. at the bar) features $4 beers, $7 wines and $8 cocktails, plus discounted rolls and appetizers. Weekly deals also keep things interesting: half-off kids meals on Mondays, roll specials on Tuesdays and wine and sake bottle discounts every Wednesday. Thursdays bring Ladies Night pricing from 6 p.m. to close. For those planning parties, Saiko-i offers full-service catering, party platters and even mobile hibachi setups – bringing the live teppanyaki experience to homes, events and special occasions.

With its Plantation debut, Saiko-i is doubling down on what it does best: transforming a meal into a moment and a dinner out into something memorable.
